# Work in Excel

The current CorpDev.Ai Excel experience is a task pane for Analyst conversations and data operations. It links a workbook to a CorpDev.Ai document and lets you review proposed workbook changes before applying them.

## Install and sign in

Open **Integrations → Excel add-in** in the web app and follow the installation link offered there. If your organization manages Office add-ins centrally, use the package or deployment provided by its administrator. Installation availability depends on the approved add-in distribution and your Office environment.

Open the add-in in Excel and sign in through the CorpDev.Ai sign-in dialog. Use the account that has access to the intended workspace. This flow uses your app sign-in; do not paste a public API key into a worksheet as a substitute.

## Link a workbook

Choose the intended workspace. The **Use an existing document** flow lets you select an **Existing document** or create a **New document** for the workbook. Check the selected document before linking.

If the selected document already has a workbook, the pane warns that your next **Send** replaces it with the current file while retaining a version. Use a separate document if you need the workbooks to remain independent.

## Ask for workbook changes

Describe the change in the chat, naming sheets, ranges, calculations and assumptions. Review the proposed changes before applying them. Check the resulting formulas and affected cells in Excel, particularly if the workbook contains existing financial models.

Do not assume every operation can be undone in one step. Follow the pane's actual recovery information; some changes require multiple undo steps. Keep an independent copy before material restructuring.

## Data operations

| Control | Use |
| --------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Pull | Bring a list, pipeline, company set or AI Room search into an Excel table. |
| Push rows | Send selected rows to a list or pipeline after reviewing the destination and mapping. |
| Refresh | Update a linked table from its source. Pull a table first. |
| AI Fill | Run an AI column over a table after reviewing the price and scope. |

Viewer permissions restrict writes. The current pane disables Push and AI Fill on iPad; use a supported desktop or web Excel environment for those operations. **Stop watching** stops the pane's progress monitoring and should not be assumed to cancel a server job.

## History and recovery

**History** shows retained workbook versions. The current pane retains up to 20 versions; **Revert** adds a new version based on the selected one rather than deleting history. Review the active workbook and linked document after a revert.

If you see an authentication, permission or linking error, resolve it before resubmitting. Repeated sends can produce extra work or replace a linked workbook again.

## Moving from the old documentation

The legacy company, document and Analyst worksheet-formula pages do not describe this task pane. Use the current controls above for new work. If an existing workbook depends on an older formula add-in, preserve that workbook and confirm its supported migration with your CorpDev.Ai representative before replacing the add-in.
