Source Files and AI Room

Open Source Files to work with the AI Room: the workspace's uploaded reference documents. Use these files as evidence for research and deliverables.

Upload and confirm processing

  1. Confirm the workspace and open the destination folder, or stay at All Files for the root.

  2. Select Upload. The dropdown also offers Upload Folder. You can drag files into the page; check the displayed destination before dropping them.

  3. Keep the upload open until transfer completes. Processing continues separately from the transfer.

  4. Open Upload history to check the overall job and individual file outcomes. Download the report when you need to reconcile a large batch.

  5. Wait for files to become ready for AI analysis before relying on them in a task.

A file can exist in the room while extraction is pending or has failed. For a failure, inspect the reported reason and use Retry processing when offered. Password protection, damaged files or unsupported content may require a corrected source file rather than another retry.

Browse and organize

Index shows a folder outline. Expand the chevron to reveal children; select a folder name to open that folder. Recent helps find newly added material. Use New folder and each row's actions to organize files. Multi-select allows bulk actions where offered.

Download ZIP exports a folder and its subfolders. Large exports may require a smaller scope. Check the export notes for files omitted because they were still uploading.

Deletion can remove source material permanently, including a folder's contents. Read the confirmation and keep an independent copy before deleting material you may need.

Search and use evidence

The search control offers Content and Name. Use Name for a known filename and Content for a question about the material inside files. Use the available search options to narrow the scope, then open the source behind a relevant result.

In an Analyst prompt, type @ and select the relevant file, folder or whole-room context. A narrower folder is often a better starting point for a specific question than the entire room. Ask for citations and check them against the original material.

Review and recurring work

If Reviews is available, use it to extract comparable fields across files. See Tabular reviews.

Automations can respond to new uploads, including a brief after uploads become quiet. Check scope and recipients before enabling one. See Automation.

Some workspaces also offer index numbering. Use the room's index controls only when visible; changing numbering can affect references your team uses. Folder names are organization labels, not proof of a separate access boundary. Use workspace permissions to determine access.
